Kishor Kher

President & Trustee

Mr. Kishor Kher is following his dream of social service, tirelessly in the footsteps of his Grandfather, Late Mr. B. G. Kher to take over as President & Trustee of the Kherwadi Social Welfare Association (KSWA) a launch pad where he started the Yuva Parivartan (YP) Movement.

Mr. S. K. Palekar

Trustee

A gold medal winner in M.Sc. (Physics) from Bombay University and a first rank holder in MMS in Marketing from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute, S K Palekar began his career in Richardson Hindustan Ltd and went on to work with esteemed brands such as P&G, Cadbury, Best Foods, MRF/Funskool, Balsara (Now Dabur), Onida and Eureka Forbes. He has more than two decades of experience with leading MNCs and Indian firms marketing branded consumer products.

Mr. Girish Shantaram Pikale

Mr.Girish Pikale, Advocate, High Court and former Partner, M/s. S. V. Pikale & Co. Advocates, is on the Panel of State Bank, Corporation Bank, Union Bank for High Court & DRT Matters Non-Residents and attends matters in the Supreme Court & High Court.

Alok Kshirsagar is a Senior Partner with McKinsey & Company. He is in charge of client services to a number of leading companies in the US and Asia, with a focus on financial services, infrastructure and diversified conglomerates. Alok is passionate about using his expertise to support economic development and foreign policy in India and other emerging markets. He has led a number of McKinsey capabilities as well. He is currently the Asia leader for the Impact and capability accelerator, which is responsible for all of McKinsey’s people, expertise and assets that drive implementation and capability change for clients. He has also led the Asia Risk Management practice and McKinsey Asia Center- a special initiative to help companies drive successful global expansion. He also serves on the Partner review committee that evaluates all partner globally. Alok also serves on the Board of Parliamentary Research Services, which builds the capabilities of legislators across India in a fact-based, non-partisan way, and the National Association for the Blind in Bangalore. He is also on the advisory board for the wildlife conservation trust and the United World Colleges National committee for India. He also serves on various Indian government committees that focus on infrastructure finance and is part of the WEF YGL alumni community. Dr. Varun Nagaraj

Varun Nagaraj is Dean and Professor of Information Management at S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai. He holds a Ph.D. in Management: Designing Sustainable Systems from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
He also holds an MBA from Boston University, an MS in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University, and a BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Bombay. His career spanning over three decades in digital products reflects his passion for product management, development, and innovation.
He has held senior leadership roles including C-level responsibilities for venture-funded start-ups as well as public companies in the US. His research interests encompass the impacts of digital innovation on teams, organizations, and society at large. Specific interest areas include Team Learning, Product Management, Design Thinking, Entrepreneurship and Venturing, and Digital Ecosystems and Platforms.
His research contributions have been presented in prominent journals, renowned international conferences, and popular periodicals. He has previously taught at the University of Notre Dame, Pepperdine University, and Boston University.

An advertising professional, strategist, author, marathon runner, social worker is just some of the roles he has donned with passion. He was the CEO of Euro RSCG India and also Chief Strategy Officer for Euro RSCG Asia Pacific. He was the Chairman of Euro RSCG’s emerging markets planning council and was a member of the global management committee. N. Srinath has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT (Chennai) and a Management Degree from IIM (Kolkata). Since joining the Tata Administrative Services in 1986, Srinath had held positions in Project Management, Sales & Marketing, Operations and Management in different Tata companies over a period of 36 years.

Paresh Sukthankar

Banker Ex. Dy. MD – HDFC Bank Ltd​

A banker for over three decades, Paresh Sukthankar was an integral part of the core team that founded HDFC Bank Ltd. in 1995. Mr.Sukthankar was inducted on the bank’s Board as Executive Director in 2007 and was elevated to the post of Deputy Managing Director in 2014. He was also a member of various committees formed by Reserve Bank of India and Indian Banks’ Association. Prior to joining HDFC Bank, Mr.Sukthankar worked in Citibank from 1985 to 1994 in various departments, including corporate banking, risk management and financial control. He currently serves as Lead Partner in Sanaksh Advisors LLP, a firm he founded to provide advisory services to private equity, venture capital, and other entities. Sanjay G. Ubale was the director, partnerships at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, India Country office in Delhi. He has earlier served as managing director and chief executive officer of Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Sons, the group’s real estate and infrastructure development arm. In his career spanning over thirty-one years, Sanjay has held many key positions, notable amongst them were: secretary to government for Mumbai’s Development; secretary to the chief minister; joint secretary, Administrative Reforms; managing director of a public-sector undertaking called Maharashtra State Seeds Corporation; collector and district magistrate of Sangli district in Maharashtra; and project director of the World Bank and DfID assisted Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Project. Mr. Kishor Kher is following his dream of social service, tirelessly in the footsteps of his Grandfather, Late Mr. B. G. Kher to take over as President & Trustee of the Kherwadi Social Welfare Association (KSWA) a launch pad where he started the Yuva Parivartan (YP) Movement.

In 1998, he left corporate life as the Head of an American MNC in India and dedicated to service a segment of the society which was relatively ignored by people at large – less educated deprived out-of- school dropouts through Livelihoods Training through its large and small Vocational Training Centers. The Yuva Parivartan Center is typically located in a slum or rural backward area and conducts short- term employment oriented courses, free for youth in a 60:40 weighted in favour of girls. Yuva Parivartan is currently partnering 100 large NGOs in implementing Yuva Parivartan Model across the Country and Yuva Parivartan Rural Mobile Camps are taking the Model into the rural interiors. Yuva Parivartan Institute for Entrepreneurship Development conducts Skilling Programs for the Government and the Corporate Sector and currently covers the whole of Maharashtra.

An alma mater of Indian Institutes of Ahmadabad, Mr. Kher is the active member of various corporate bodies and councils across the country. He is having special strength in Strategic & Business Planning and Marketing Management & Corporate Social Responsibility at both ends of the spectrum.

Yuva Parivartan is now in a position to help the National Skills Development Mission on a national basis by setting up 100 centers to enable local NGOs replicate the Yuva Parivartan Model. With each centre training 500 youth per annum a total of 3 lakh youth will have received training and with a multiplier of 20 this will impact the lives of 60 lakh people.

The other initiatives by Yuva Parivartan include an Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP) and Entrepreneurship Training. After having touched the lives of more than 50,000 deprived youth across rural, tribal, semi-urban and urban parts of Maharashtra, Yuva Parivartan has a dream of reaching out to the needy across the country by replicating the Yuva Parivartan Model with other NGOs.

Yuva Parivartan is the one of the largest Livelihoods NGO in the Country, training over 100,000 students during current the year.

After a stint of 34 years in the Indian corporate world, S K Palekar kickstarted his second career as an educator, a professor, a consultant, an independent director, and the trustee of an NGO. With a passion for teaching, he has taught at various top B schools like S P Jain, Bajaj, NMIMS and MICA taking regular courses for over two decades. Presently, he is the Chairperson of Executive Education Center at S P Jain Institute.

Mrinalini Kher

Mrinalini Kher has been associated with Kherwadi Social Welfare Association since 1988 and has handled several departments when the organization was much smaller in activities. Over the years, she has gained rich experiences in Trust and other statutory organizational matters. Being a co-founder of YP with her husband Kishor Kher she’s passionate about the cause of at-risk youth. She now is involved in mentoring new verticals and is a representative of YP at panel discussions and talks organized by other institutions. Her rich experience allows her to represent civil society in POSH committees, and conducts workshops on the subject.

R. Gopalkrishnan

Chairman, Advisory Board, Former Director, Tata Sons

Until his retirement he was an executive director of Tata Sons Ltd and served on the boards of Tata Power, Tata Technologies, AkzoNobel India, Castrol India and ABP Pvt. Ltd. Before joining Tata he was Vice Chairman of Hindustan Lever, the Indian subsidiary of Unilever plc.

Gopalakrishnan earned a bachelor’s degree in Physics from St Xavier’s College, Calcutta University, a bachelor’s degree in Electronics from IIT Kharagpur in 1967 and did a six-week Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School, United States.

He has lived and worked in India, the UK and Saudi Arabia. He began his career in 1967 as a computer analyst with Hindustan Lever. He worked in the marketing function before moving to general management. During his years with Unilever, he was based in Jeddah as CEO of the Arabia unit; later, he was managing director of Brooke Bond Lipton India and then vice-chairman with Hindustan Lever. He has been president of the All India Management Association.

A management consultant, an independent board director and a co-founder of a B2B enterprise tech start-up, Nagesh Alai plays many vital roles.

He retired in 2016 as the Group Chairman of FCB Ulka Group and Vice Chairman FCB Worldwide. The Confederation of Asian Advertising Agency Associations (CAAAA) has elected Nagesh Alai of the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) as its new chairman. Elderly care and education are social causes that he holds close to his heart.

Currently he serves as Chairman of Bharat Web3 Association.

Currently serving as the Managing Partner at DSK Legal, Anand Desai has over 30 years of extensive domestic and international experience. He has been a trusted counsel to several large multinational and Indian corporates and high-net-worth individuals.

He was appointed by Ministry of Law and Justice as Chairman of a Committee to recommend amendments to the Specific Relief Act, 1963. He has served as the National President of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce. He has been elected as President of TiE Mumbai from April 2016, and is currently involved with numerous well-known NGOs, including as trustee of L&T Employees Welfare Foundation, director of Paani Foundation, advisory board member of Swades Foundation and Yuva Parivartan, Chairman of the Tribal Mensa Nurturing Program, and managing council member of Vision Foundation of India.

Venkatadri Ranganathan is the Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Chemicals from April 2022. In this role, he is responsible for driving excellence in all commercial areas of supply chain, procurement and sales and management. This also includes all the capital procurement and embedding the framework of LT contracts in supply chain and S&M.  In addition, he is also leading the efforts of Data Management improvement initiative in Tata Chemicals

Prior to this, he has held various leadership roles as COO of Nutrition Science Business and Chief Innovation and Digital Officer in Tata Chemicals. Before that, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Rallis India. In Rallis, he was instrumental in developing and implementing the precision agriculture services leveraging digital technologies. He has been associated with Tata Chemicals for about 19 years now. 

Venkatadri began his career with Hindustan Lever Limited in 1991 as a Management Trainee and has worked across many functions over 13 years.

Venkatadri holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from VJTI (Mumbai University) and has done his PGDM from IIM Lucknow, where he secured the Gold Medal. He is a qualified coach having got certified as Master Certified Coach (MCC) from International Coaching Federation (ICF), the most recognized body in the world.

He is a Governing Council Member of CII Centre for Digital Transformation, a member of the CII National Committee on Technology, Innovation and R&D and a member on the CII Smart Manufacturing Council. He has recently taken up as the Vice-Chairman of the Western Region Chemicals Committee. He is also a member of the Research Council of CSIR-NCL and CSIR -CECRI. He serves on the Governing Board of TIFAC. He is also an Advisory Committee Member of PGDM – Rural Management of Wellingkar College of Management, Mumbai.

He is passionate about Rural, Marketing, digital, agriculture.  He loves teaching and mentoring.

Suman Shrivastava

N. Srinath

Former CEO - Tata Trust

N. Srinath has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT (Chennai) and a Management Degree from IIM (Kolkata). Since joining the Tata Administrative Services in 1986, Srinath had held positions in Project Management, Sales & Marketing, Operations and Management in different Tata companies over a period of 36 years.

He worked in Tata Honeywell as Project Executive, Tata Industries as Executive Assistant to the Chairman, in Tata Information Systems (later Tata IBM) in various Sales & Marketing roles and in Tata Industries as General Manager (Projects). In April 1999, he took over as the Chief Operating Officer of Tata Teleservices and then from late 2000 till February 2002, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Tata Internet Services.

Mr. Srinath joined Tata Communications (then known as VSNL) in 2002 as Director (Operations) when the Tata Group was selected as the strategic partner at the company. Mr. Srinath was the Managing Director of Tata Communications Limited from February 2007 till January 31, 2011. Under his leadership, Tata Communications transformed from a monopoly public sector undertaking into a global communications services provider offering advanced network, managed and cloud services to customers worldwide.

 

Mr. Srinath took over as the Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited from February 1, 2011 till March 31, 2020 when he moved to the Tata Trusts as Chief Executive Officer a position he held till his retirement in October 2022. During his term, the Trusts had continued to support key interventions in priority areas in the development sector across Livelihoods, Nutrition, Water & Sanitation, Education, Cancer Care and Health.

From secretary to government for Mumbai’s Development to secretary to the chief minister, joint secretary to managing director of Maharashtra State Seeds Corporation, collector to district magistrate of Sangli district in Maharashtra, Sanjay Ubale has held numerous key positions in his impressive career of thirty-one years. He is also a distinguished IAS Officer. Governance, infrastructure, rural & urban development, water & sanitation, and community-based development are some of his areas of interest.

He currently serves as the director and holds partnerships at the India Country office in Delhi. He had also served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited.

Milind Chitre

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Mr. Milind Chitre started his “Second Innings” by joining the social sector as CEO of Yuva Parivartan. 

Before immersing himself in the social sector, Mr. Chitre was leading global business transformational programs- leveraging Information Technology, for more than 30 years, in multinational companies. He was based in several countries- Thailand, Indonesia, Sweden, Switzerland, Japan and Germany. 

He is a leader who drives change, excels in building teams and turning around troubled programs. He brings a strong strategic and execution focus, which helps organizations to deliver the desired outcomes.

Mr. Chitre, is an Engineer, MBA, Cost Accountant and has also passed the Final examination of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)

Prior to joining Yuva Parivartan, Mr. Singh served as the CEO of Gramin Vikas Trust under KRIBHCO, Noida, where he led transformative initiatives focused on rural development and sustainability. His leadership was pivotal in driving programs that uplifted communities and improved livelihoods.

He also contributed significantly as a member of the Board of Governors at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), helping to shape the institution’s strategic direction and advancing its mission in rural development and management education.

In his earlier role as Assistant Program Director at Development Alternatives in Jhansi, Mr. Singh played a key part in implementing programs dedicated to promoting sustainable livelihoods and community development.

Manglesh Inamdar

Director, Operations

Mr. Manglesh, with over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, has carved a distinguished career marked by excellence and dedication. He spent a significant part of his journey, nearly 10 years, as a General Manager at Franco-Indian Pharmaceutical Private Limited. During his tenure, he excelled in sales, team building, and business development, leaving an indelible mark on the company.

Outside of his professional achievements, Mr. Manglesh has a vibrant personality. He finds joy in singing, cricket, and music, and loves engaging with people. His diverse interests and ability to connect with others bring a unique and human touch to his professional endeavors.

Archana Nair

Director, Finance & Accounts

Archana holds 28 years of experience in Finance & Accounting like Financial Planning & Analysis, Revenue Management, Project reporting, Management reporting, Governance, Treasury Management and worked in multiple industries like Commercial finance, Service, Manufacturing, Financial services, ITES. Before joining Kherwadi Social Welfare Association, she has been associated with organizations like Shriram Finance, Kent Cars, Eves Apparel, Interactive Marketing, MIEL e-Secutiry. Archana is a Chartered Accountant, Diploma holder of Financial Management and a Commerce graduate.

Nicola Monteiro

Director, IRDP

Nicola Monteiro has been heading The Integrated Rural Development Program since 2015. A gold medallist in the Master’s Program of Social Work and with 35 years of experience in the Social Development sector. Prior to her current stint at Kherwadi Social Welfare Association, she worked with SWADES Foundation, Catholic Relief Services, on UNICEF projects and with her Alma Mater, Tata institute of Social Sciences. Her passion for addressing the challenges faced by rural and tribal India, has resulted in her department /division/unit implementing water – sanitation, agriculture – nutrition, livestock development, women’s empowerment and rural skilling across a number of states in India.

Uday A. Dalvi

Associate Director, Human Resources & Admin

Mr. Uday A. Dalvi has been heading HR & Admin. Department at Kherwadi Social Welfare Association since 2016.  He holds a Master’s degree Labour Studies and also law graduate from Mumbai University. He has over 25 Years of experience and has led the entire gamut of HR functions in different industrial sectors like, Pharmaceuticals, Media, BPO, Engineering and Education. Prior to joining KSWA, he worked with MT Educare Lts. Mumbai.

Aparna Chalke

Head, Resource Mobilisations

Aparna Chalke runs the Resource Mobilisation division at Kherwadi Social Welfare Association. She has been with Kherwadi Social Welfare Association since 2017 and is responsible for donor acquisition and engagement. Before joining Kherwadi Social Welfare Association, Aparna worked with the UK based firm Coalition Greenwich, a leading global provider of strategic benchmarking, analytics and insights to the financial services industry. She has handled accounts like JP Morgan, Nomura, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs amongst others. She has also led research projects with the World Bank and Boston Consulting Group in a consultant capacity. Aparna has read Law from the University of Mumbai. She holds a MMS in Finance from JBIMS and is a CFA level 2 candidate.

Uma Sundararaman

Head Counselling and Social Impact

Uma leads the Counselling, Social Impact Monitoring & Research teams at KSWA.

After completing her MS in Psychotherapy, she joined KSWA in the year 2007 as a volunteer before accepting a full-time assignment as a Counsellor.

She was instrumental in the development of “Soch Ka Parivartan”, a curriculum aimed at changing the mindset of youth towards livelihood. 

She set up the Social Impact monitoring Department at KSWA which includes a 12-seater call center that continuously collects data on impact of the work done by YP. She also spearheads all activities connected with Research through regular market surveys to understand Youth Aspirations, Skill gaps and Industry demands.

She has played a major role in piloting Yuva Engage, a mentoring program for start-up NGOs.

Ida Pereira

Senior Manager IT

Ida is heading the Information Technology & MIS function at Kherwadi Social Welfare Association. An MBA in HR-IT & MIS comes with 25 years of experience in the field of Training, implementing software Technologies, testing software applications, Data Management, Planning & Analysis, Project Management, Data Security. At present she is involved in implementing technologies and tools that can help YP staff work smart and build confidence in using newer technologies. Her department also caters to managing infrastructure PAN India and ensuring smooth working of the staff while on field, with the help of various tools and technologies. Prior to working at Kherwadi Social Welfare Association, she was an Assistant Manager at Mastek Ltd.

Sandhya Ghadi

Sr. Manager, Marcom & Digital Marketing

As Sr. Digital Marketing Manager, Sandhya focuses on building Yuva Parivartan brand by applying expertise to areas of brand strategy, planning, positioning & integrated marketing communication.  A metrics driven and detail obsessed geek, who works at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and technology to create impact and growth for Yuva Parivartan. Sandhya is responsible for utilizing digital strategies and advertising strategies to support the marketing communication goals of KSWA Yuva Parivartan. Prior to Yuva Parivartan, Sandhya held digital marketing roles with SRL, Sin Denim, Preetislim.

Shomali Johri

Operations Manager, Hospitality

With extensive experience in the development sector, Shomali brings to the team an unmatched flair to serve the society and has been relentlessly working towards it through her key responsibilities at Yuva Parivartan. An MBA in Marketing, Shomali has worked with organisations like Samata, Hyderabad Council of Human Welfare, Atmashakti Trust & SAHER, in a career spanning over 17 years. She currently heads a programme on Hospitality and After Care, her department caters to the youth from the weaker section between the age group of 18-26 years, who aspires to have a career in the hotel industry. She also looks after the rehabilitation and reintegration of human trafficked and at-risk individuals in hospitality and other sectors as well.
